Effective Parenting... What Is It?

Different Parenting Style... Where Do You Fit In?

Some Great Free Parenting Tip Resources

J.D. Dean

Getting a free tip on anything in life is human nature. Deciphering the good tips from the bad is another matter. A free parenting tip should be taken on face value because it is such a delicate area and what works for one parent may work in a detrimental fashion for another. It's natural today for parents to go online seeking information on parenting but again, how do you sift out the good information from the bad.

Let's examine in short some great reference points online.

Parenting.org is almost a first stop for many parents as it offers not only that much sought after free parenting tip, but in a sense, it also offers a good deal of guidance. This site has some excellent advice regarding problem or "at risk" children.

If you don't mind a little commercialism then Parenting.ivillage.com is another good source of parenting information. It's a big site but searching within the right category once you're there should help locate the section you're after. There is some good advice on almost all aspects of parenting including trying to conceive, teenagers, pregnancy, newborns, teens, and preschool/toddlers.

For real credibility it's hard to go past a site like Familydoctor.org. It does concentrate mainly on general physicians advice however there are categories within the site that could prove to be particularly useful. You are sure to get plenty of free parenting tips in any one of these sections such as "Parents And Kids."

Finding Credible And Respected Information

There are several other sites we could go into detail about but essentially, sticking with the first 20 to 30 results in your search should be sufficient. Practicalparent.org.uk, parent.net and Positiveparenting.com are other excellent sites to keep in mind. The latter has excellent information and resources and it's aim is to help parents make their role more rewarding with the information they offer.

If you wanted to search offline then speaking with your local doctor should produce further parenting information reference sources. Also, a visit to your local hospital for information is more than worthwhile. Local government centers will more than likely provide information on parenting sources.

The above mentioned reference sites are all good starting points when searching for a free parenting tip. One thing to keep in mind is that web publishing being what it is means that by visiting these sites, it's more than likely there will be a host of links contained within them leading to other areas of good information.
