Parenting A Baby
Parenting a baby is one of the most rewarding yet challenging things life can throw at you. It certainly was for me yet it made me realise how important it is to make the transition from one of self centered needs to actually considering someone else in your life. Parenting a baby doesn't come naturally to a lot of people and the best piece of advice I received when my time finally came was to simply grow into the experience. The question I wanted answered was whether there was a universal blueprint in caring for a baby; a system everyone could follow and implement which would make the task plain sailing and a breeze. The bottom line is that every baby is different, has a different personality and different needs and peculiarities so in essence, while you will be parenting your child, your child will actually be the one dictating in a sense just what parenting requirements it needs from you. Bonding With Your Baby This is such a vital component of parenting a child. The early stages of a baby's life and the relationship it develops with it's parents. Bonding, expecially with mom is essential in the first few months of life. It could determine just how well a person forms what is called secure attachments later in life. It could determine just how easy or difficult it will become later in life for a child to form close relationships. Developing Trust Again, another very important component of parenting a baby during the formative years. Trust between baby and it's parents. A baby spends nine months in a mother's womb; it's a safe and secure environment. Suddenly it's thrust out into the world away from it's former environment where everything it needed was provided for it. Who does it turn to when it's out in the world? It's mother, naturally. Your baby learns to trust as you meet it's requirements. When the baby gets hungry you feed it; when it needs it's diaper changed you change it; when it cries you are there to comfort it. This is what trust between a baby and it's aprents is all about. These trust moments happen hundreds of times in the first few months, and you are parenting a baby when you meet his needs in most of these moments. However, ignore any of these practices and it could jeopardize to an extent the trust factor your baby has for you. Trust for a baby is important in developing intimate relationships later in it's life as well as having the ability to learn all the new things life will throw at it. Parenting a baby is not about following a blueprint. Imagine if every child in the world was brought up following the exact same blueprint. It would be a fairly boring world if everyone had the same personality. Grow into your parenting experience and develop a bond and trust with your baby. That would make for a pretty good starting point.
